The exhibition “Through Young Eyes,” a series of drawings by Palestinian teenagers who experienced last year’s Israeli-Palestinian conflict, is on display at London’s P21 Gallery from August 7 to 22, as part of the larger “Gaza on Gaza” exhibition of Palestinian artists.
“Through Young Eyes” was organized by the Culture and Free Thought Association (CFTA), an organization that provides therapeutic activities for children and young people. Following the ceasefire, the teenagers, under the association’s guidance, visited shelters to meet other children and listen to their stories. These stories and discussions, along with their personal experiences and what they heard in the news and from within their communities, inspired the drawings on display.
CFTA provides vital support to young people, giving them the opportunity to learn, play, and develop their talents in the safest possible environment. The organization encourages them to express themselves and pursue their dreams of becoming artists, writers, musicians, or actors, and to come together and use their skills to ensure their voices are heard.
